On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the International FairPlay Passport – Olympia Club and the Hellenic Olympians Association celebrated the World Fair Play Day, through a series of international school events across Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, Greece, Lebanon, South Afirca, Angola, Zimbabwe, Congo, Argentina and Colombia.
The Hellenic Olympians Association, with their President Voula Kozompoli, OLY silver medallist Athens 2004 water polo, Kelly Araouzou, OLY open water swimming, Dimitris Mougios, silver medallist Beijing 2008, rowing, Nikos Mavromatis OLY skeet shooting and Maroussa Pappou OLY snowboarding, joined students promoting the values of fair play, respect, sportsmanship and friendship through sport.
The Hellenic Olympians Association is the first association of Olympic Games participants to welcome students from around the world through the International Fair Play Passport Olympia Club program!
This day reminds us once again of the most important values in sport: fairness, respect, and integrity.
Sometimes, what matters more than winning is how we achieve it. Respect for opponents, commitment to the rules, and competing with integrity represent the true spirit of sport.
Sport has the power to unite us, to educate us, and to make us better people.
The United Nations established this important day because fair play helps unite people, promotes peace, and spreads positive values among children and adults across the globe.
Fair play means following the rules, respecting others, and always striving for the best with kindness, ethics, and integrity.
It is not only about the game or the rules of a competition; above all, it concerns the way we behave toward others, how we handle success and failure, and the choices we make in our daily lives.
This is an important message for all young people across the five continents, showing that sport can help create a better and more united world.
Olympians and athletes play an important role in promoting these values.
Through their effort, discipline, and behavior, both on and off the field, they show us what it means to compete with respect and integrity.
They inspire young people to do their best while staying true to the spirit of sport.
