A major event of the International Fair Play Passport took place in the ancient city of Olympia on April 28th & 29th, 2026.
The initiative was a great success, both in scale and in quality, thanks to a dedicated team that enabled OLYMPIA CLUB schools from around the world to come together in the spirit of sportsmanship and peace.
The city of Ancient Olympia hosted an online gathering of schools from around the world as part of the INTERNATIONAL FAIRPLAY PASSPORT – OLYMPIA CLUB program, aimed at promoting the values of fair play, respect, and peace.
A total of 8,692 students worldwide had the opportunity to virtually explore Ancient Olympia — a timeless symbol of unity, peace, and human excellence, and the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The place where, centuries ago, people set aside their differences to come together in the spirit of noble competition and mutual respect.
Young people from across the globe were united through the universal values of sport.
Mr. Konstantinos Antonopoulos, archaeologist at the Ephorate of Antiquities of Elis and holder of an MSc in Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, and the Organization and Management of Olympic Events, guided students and their teachers on a captivating journey through time. Through a virtual tour of the archaeological site and the museum of Ancient Olympia, he highlighted the site’s deep connection to Olympic heritage and its enduring values.
The presentation of the International FairPlay Passport Olympia Club program was held in collaboration with the Municipality of Ancient Olympia, the capital city of the International FairPlay Passport, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Elis, and the Hellenic Olympians Association (ESOA).
Participating schools from all five continents were warmly welcomed by:
- Aristeides Panagiotopoulos, Mayor of Ancient Olympia and Honorary President of the International FairPlay Passport
- Voula Kozompoli, President of the Olympians Association (EOA)
- Antonis Chrysanthakopoulos, Deputy Mayor for Sports, Ancient Olympia
- Alexia Liagoura, Principal of the Gymnasium of Ancient Olympia
- Denise Panagopoulou, President of the Hellenic Pierre de Coubertin Committee.
A special thank you to archaeologist Professor Konstantinos Antonopoulos, who, with great expertise and passion, vividly brought to life the beauty and mythology of Olympia, illuminating its deep connection to the history and values of sport and fair play.
