The Saheti School, Johannesburg, South Africa

🎉 Let's welcome today, Saheti School, from Johannesburg, South Africa🌟 🌟SAHETI School was founded in 1974 in Johannesburg, South Africa, by leaders of the Greek Community, alongside Advocate George Bizos—renowned human rights lawyer, close friend, and legal representative of Nelson Mandela. An English-medium, independent school, SAHETI was established to serve the educational and cultural needs of the Greek community. While Greek language learning is compulsory, the school has always embraced a broader vision rooted in inclusion, excellence, and community. That founding spirit remains at the heart of SAHETI today. SAHETI is now home to approximately 1,320 learners, from Play School to High School, representing over 30 different ethnic backgrounds. Proudly multicultural yet deeply grounded in its Hellenic ethos, the school infuses Greek values, culture, and traditions throughout its curriculum, guiding learners academically, socially, and morally. This philosophy is captured in the school’s motto, Know Thyself — Γνώθι σαυτόν — encouraging self-awareness, integrity, and lifelong learning. Recognised as one of South Africa’s leading independent schools, SAHETI’s academic excellence is reflected in its strong matric results and a rich programme of sporting and cultural activities. Firmly rooted in its heritage and confidently looking to the future, SAHETI continues to shape well-rounded, principled global citizens.
