-🎉We welcome the Socrates Academy, North Carolina!🌟 @socratesacademy Socrates Academy is a public charter school located in Matthews, a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 2005, the school serves more than 1,100 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. While rooted in the Greek language and culture, the majority of our students are not of Greek heritage, creating a diverse and multicultural learning community. Socrates Academy implements an innovative partial Greek language immersion model. Greek is not simply taught as a foreign language; it is a language of instruction. From Kindergarten through 8th grade, students study Mathematics daily in Greek, fostering structured thinking, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for Hellenic educational values. The program aligns with North Carolina State Standards and prepares students for the Ellinomatheia Greek Language Certification. High school students may also pursue a Global Studies Diploma, promoting international awareness and global citizenship. Socrates Academy has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education and consistently ranks in the top 1% of schools in North Carolina.
